Wellington Potters Guild
Wellington, New Zealand
2006

Jenny Shearer, who is a well known New Zealand potter working in porcelain,  (at Robert's right) kindly hosted Robert & Christine.

The guild planned their first anagama firing for the weekend of Robert's workshop, giving their Vermont guests a chance to experience the firing
after the workshop each day.

Robert gave a two day workshop on Altering Thrown Forms.

Robert's own work has evolved to incorporate a variety of subtle alterations to energize forms. This developed as a result of his interest in atmospheric firing, and a desire to create strong forms that do not require decoration.

Arts and Crafts in New Zealand is strongly supported by the national government. A system of grants to local arts organizations has resulted in an amazing amount of knowledge in the general population about objects that are made by hand.
