Robert gave a two day workshop on Altering Thrown Forms. Each morning (and again in the early afternoon), Robert demonstrated a new technique that
could be explored by participants.
His Altering Thrown Forms Workshop is one of his
most popular sessions
and offers a smorgasbord of manipulations to a clay
form
that can be individualized by each participant.

The Waikato Society of Potters
has a wonderful studio in downtown North Hamilton.Arts and Crafts in
New Zealand is strongly supported by the national government. A system of
grants to local arts organizations has resulted in an amazing amount of
knowledge in the general population about objects that are made by hand. |

Robert's own work has evolved to
incorporate a variety of subtle alterations to energize forms. This
developed as a result of his interest in atmospheric firing, and a desire to
create strong forms
that do not require decoration. |
