The Waikato Society of Potters
North Hamilton, New Zealand
2006

Robert gave a two day workshop on Altering Thrown Forms.

Each morning (and again in the early afternoon), Robert demonstrated a new technique that could be explored by participants.
His Altering Thrown Forms Workshop is one of his most popular sessions
and offers a smorgasbord of manipulations to a clay form
that can be individualized by each participant.

The Waikato Society of Potters
has a wonderful studio in downtown North Hamilton.

Arts and Crafts in New Zealand is strongly supported by the national government.  A system of grants to local arts organizations has resulted in an amazing amount of knowledge in the general population about objects that are made by hand.

Robert's own work has evolved to incorporate a variety of subtle alterations to energize forms.  This developed as a result of his interest in atmospheric firing, and a desire to create strong forms
that do not require decoration.
