Celadon Glaze

Using a celadon over textured surfaces accentuates the surface by reflecting a darker color in deep texture.

Korean Celadon is even more unique because of its wide range of colors created in a wood or salt glazed atmosphere

Korean Celadon

Korean Celadon is a unique celadon because it produces of a wide range of colors.  While it may fire transparent green, it often is opaque and ranges in color from pale yellow to golden rust.  It may even exhibit tiny star-like crystals.  The surface quality of Korean Celadon may also vary from gloss to matte.
Most celadon glazes offer a consistent gloss and predictable color.  Robert works with Korean Celadon because it offers him a wide spectrum of colors and effects.

Jomon

Jomon refers to an ancient style of Japanese pottery
which has a basket-like textured surface.  Robert's pieces are turned on the potter’s wheel,
then, while the clay is still soft, a small rope is rolled across the pots surface to create this texture.
