Urns & Planters & Basins

Clay is turned on the potters wheel,  raising and thinning the walls.
Additional clay is added as soft coils, which in turn is thrown into ever
higher and wider forms. 

Few studio potters work at this scale since the process requires large kilns and firing losses tend to be higher on larger pots.

 

Robert finds that large pots offer a challenge and reward
that makes the effort more than worthwhile.
