Preparing Pottery

For Shipping

For over thirty years Robert Compton Pottery has been shipping work made in their Bristol Vermont studio to clients all over the world.  This means that regardless of whether you purchase a small serving bowl or a giant urn your piece will be professionally packed and is guaranteed to arrive in perfect condition.

   .

In 1982 we constructed this tower just for the purpose of storing packing materials for shipping.  The height of the tower allows packing materials to flow thru the shoot (visible between buildings) into our shipping area.

Each Pot is wrapped in Bubble wrap, placed in a box and then floated in recycled plastic packing peanuts in larger outer box. ( Double Boxing)

Large Planters and Urns too large for shipping UPS or by Postal Service are inner and outer boxed before being strapped to pallets for shipment
via Common Carrier.

We will often save our clients shipping fees by delivering crated items to the trucking terminal, avoiding the pickup fee charged by carriers.
