Maya Zelkin

Shrewsbury, VT
2008

This is the second Anagama Kiln that Maya has built in Vermont.

The firings in this anagama are fairly fast, lasting about 21 hours. Maya designed a reflective metal shield, that provides protection
from the heat, when stoking the fire box.

Each firing consumes about four cords of wood.

Maya's studio is next to her home in rural Vermont.
