Watershed - Ceramics Arts Center
Newcastle, ME

Internal firebox wood burner that is heavily used at Watershed.   It's open location makes it most usable in the summer when the center is most active.

Another idea of how feed doors can be created for stoking salt or wood.

The Salt Kiln is small in size but allows for quick firings and fast turnover, important at the Watershed where the sessions are only two weeks long.

The Watershed had been a brick factory until the late 20th century.  This bee hive kiln is about all that remains of those days, located in the "Factory" where the bricks were produced, is the summer studio area for all the watershed activities.

Entrance door to Bee Hive, this kiln had not received much use before the operation shut down and the condition of the kiln reflects its light usage.
