| Note the extended cart, which permits angle bracing of
the door. |
The kiln plan Ron used was based on the Minnesota
Flat Top. He altered the design when he had some of the roof bricks drop
into his kiln during a firing. He replaced the flat brick roof with a
fiber blanket roof. |

| Ron fires his kiln with LIQUID propane
burners. |

The flat brick roof is insulated with a
fiber blanket,
that is held in place with ceramic buttons. |

A nice touch for spy holes is the tapered brick and
tapered hole. |
 |
 |
| Note the thickness of the fiber roof. |
A metal fitting, on the top of the kiln,
permits it to
be synched in place when firing. |
