Hikiragama - a Tube firebox (and loading chamber) feeding into two back Catenary Chambers   This first Catenary chamber is used primarily for Shino glazes, the last chamber for salt glazing.

Castable was used around arched flues for easy of construction (less cutting of bricks).

Main Arch over firebox chamber is  also castable, this made possible a side entrance door (similar to an igloo) that would have been impractical if constructed with bricks.

Looking down chimney at main flue.   Chimney in early stages with tube connecting to back chamber.

The plastic cups will leave voids when castable is applied to the form, for blow holes or stoke ports.

Note plastic sheeting over form to prevent castable from sticking to the wood.
