Greg Reid
New Zealand

Looking into the stepped down firebox of Greg's kiln, in 1995.  This is the same firebox design used in the kiln at the Appel Farm.

Greg has moved since then, and this kiln may no longer exist.

Greg was one of the many hobby potters in New Zealand who take their work in clay seriously.  He had quite an extensive collection of Kiwi potters pots.  His occupation as a dairy equipment supplier,  is typical of the agricultural work found in NZ.

Greg said he could fire this kiln like an anagama, doing a 30 hour firing, or fire for as little as 18 hours, in order to produce glazed ware.
