Note method of welding a hinge on the side of an old oil drum. The fiber blanket is held in place using clay buttons.

Single gas burner feeds into the bottom. The hole on the top of the kiln is sized so a metal chimney pipe can be placed on top when firing.

Gas line feeding the kiln is rubber. Note the threaded pipe in the bottom of the lid in front. A piece of threaded pipe can be screwed in to use as handle when firing, but it can be removed to make the kiln more compact.
